DISCLOSING STORIES
The women, class and sexual violence project
Research participants needed
**Our project runs Nov 2022 to Oct 2023
We have finished our recruitment**
This study invited working-class women to take part if they:
-
identified as a woman
-
experienced sexual violence (sex against your will)
-
identified as being a working class woman
-
were age 18 years or older
-
and currently live in Scotland
Taking part involved a discussion with a female interviewer, for up to 60 minutes. Most interviewees opted for a zoom call.
We provided £30 to all participants.. All interviews are confidential and we have ethical approval for this study from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Hello
My name is Karen Lorimer
I am a researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am leading this project to explore working class women's experiences of sexual violence, whether they disclosed to anyone and how people responded. We are particularly interested in healthcare responses. Please browse this site for more information.

Coming Up Next
We will be hosting an online event in January 2024, to share our project findings.
Please check back for details.
